QinetiQ Australia has officially opened a new state-of-the-art Melbourne office, marking a major expansion of the company’s Australian operations and reinforcing its long-term commitment to the nation’s defence and advanced technology sectors.

The facility was formally opened by Peter Khalil, Assistant Minister for Defence, alongside Raff Ciccone, Federal Labor Senator for Victoria.

Representing a multi-million-dollar investment, the new Melbourne office has been purpose-built to support advanced engineering, research and program delivery activities, while strengthening collaboration between industry, government and academia.

The expansion is expected to support the growth of highly skilled jobs in Victoria and further enhance the company’s ability to deliver sovereign defence capabilities for Australia.

Designed with a focus on innovation, agility and security, the facility features secure workspaces and collaborative environments aimed at enabling QinetiQ Australia’s workforce to continue developing advanced technologies and mission-critical solutions for defence and national security customers.

Chief Executive of QinetiQ Australia
, Corry Neale, said the new office reflected the company’s ongoing investment in both capability and people.

“This new Melbourne office represents a significant investment in our capabilities and workforce,” Neale said.

“It strengthens our ability to deliver innovative, mission-critical solutions for our customers while deepening our partnerships across government, industry and academia.”

Neale added that Victoria continued to play a critical role in Australia’s defence innovation ecosystem.

“Victoria is a key hub for advanced technology and defence innovation. Expanding our presence here enables us to access world-class talent and collaborate more closely with our partners,” he said.

The opening of the Melbourne office further expands QinetiQ Australia’s national footprint and reinforces the company’s position as a key partner to the Australian Defence Force and the broader national security community.
