Omni Executive has announced a new partnership with UK company Samarkand Group to help advance the AUKUS initiative.
Omni, an Australian-owned Defence delivery company, will provide its experience in program management, engineering and security to Samarkand’s knowledge on delivering a successful national nuclear defence program.
This combined knowledge is expected to support the “safe, compliant and sustainable” growth of Australia’s nuclear submarine capabilities.
“The strength of the Omni and Samarkand partnership is that of two companies bringing different but compatible capabilities,” said Jim Neal, director of Samarkand Group.
“Our companies share the same values, ethos and culture, born of similar beginnings and backgrounds in military service.
“We look forward to working with Omni to strengthen Australia’s nuclear ambitions.”
The partnership will aim to create an integrated support network across a range of critical sectors to the AUKUS program, such as compliance, workforce development, training and project management.
Combining local delivery services with nuclear expertise will allow the best outcomes to prevail as Australia acquires Virginia Class nuclear submarines.
Omni will be responsible for leading client engagement within the partnership, harnessing the over 400 personnel in providing their services. Samarkand’s critical knowledge will be used to propel practical efforts in the program.
“Having personally known and worked with the Samarkand principals for over 15 years, I am confident in their ability and at Omni, we are very glad to be bringing this critical nuclear capability to Australia,” said Steven Thorpe, CEO of Omni Executive.
