Boeing Defence Australia has been appointed systems integrator for LAND 4140 Battle Management System to lead integration efforts to improve the Australian Defence Force’s secure communications, operational planning, and decision-making on the battlefield.

As Systems Integrator for the LAND 4140 Battle Management System, BDA will coordinate the consolidation of software applications, services, and stakeholders to deliver a unified, mission-critical command and control capability for the Australian Army.

The contract became effective on March 6 this year, with the operative date scheduled for September 2026 and an initial term of five years.

“For more than a decade we’ve delivered Battlespace Communications Systems and multi-domain network capabilities for Defence including the Integrated Battlefield Telecommunications Network (IBTN), SEA 1442 and as a subcontractor for AIR 6500,” according to BDA’s director of joint systems, Matt Buckle.

“This latest contract contributes further to our commitment to supporting the delivery of integrated communications and C4 capabilities for Defence across land, sea and air.”

The BMS capability forms part of the broader LAND 4140 program, which aims to modernise Land Command, Control, Communications, and Computers systems.

It amalgamates command and control, situational awareness, geospatial, navigation, and targeting information to advance tactical warfighting applications.
