DroneShield has revealed that its counter-unmanned aerial system has been successfully produced and manufactured in Europe for the first time.

Announced at the Eurosatory defence showcase in Paris, the European-made counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) marks a major milestone in the company’s global presence and strategy.

These products utilise AI detection to address a multitude of unmanned aerial threats, proven in military and civilian environments.

DroneShield’s products are currently being used in Kansas City to support police in aerial security amid the FIFA World Cup.

“This milestone reflects our commitment to supporting allied nations with locally produced, highly capable counter‑UAS systems,” said DroneShield chief commercial officer Louis Gamarra.

“Customers in Europe can now access the same trusted DroneShield technology, built with a supply chain aligned to regional industrial priorities.

“This is just the beginning, as DroneShield expands its production capabilities into Europe.

“With a strong pipeline of next-generation products coming online, European customers can have confidence that these capabilities will be built and supported within the EU.”

The European-made products will support DroneShield’s supply chain within Europe through a manufacturing contract that was signed earlier this year in support of “regional resilience and sovereign capabilities”.

Australian manufacturing continues to prioritise the growing domestic market.

The company said its C-UAS services support initiatives like the European Union’s Readiness 2030 Framework, which has a core focus on building defence readiness.

The company has continued propelling efforts to establish a presence within Europe, recently opening its regional headquarters in Amsterdam.
