M&C Saatchi World Services has announced that Major General (Ret’d) Dr Marcus Thompson is joining the firm as a strategic adviser.
MAJGEN (Ret’d) Thompson’s role at the strategic communications agency will support its operations in providing government, security, and defence partners with insight into strategy, engagement, and communications tactics regarding critical issues.
“M&C Saatchi World Services has built a strong reputation for delivering strategic communications in some of Australia’s most complex sectors,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to working alongside the team to help clients solve challenging problems, strengthen their strategic capability and bring fresh perspectives to the evolving security landscape.”
The retired MAJGEN served in the Australian Army for more than three decades, developing his career across command, regimental, and special operations work.
He has previously served secondment in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet as a senior adviser for Defence policy and operations, and was also the director general of Special Operations Capability.
Before retiring from the Australian Defence Force in 2020, he served in the inaugural position as the head of Information Warfare.

MAJGEN (Ret’d) Thompson is the founder of an advisory company that seeks to improve cyber security and sovereign capabilities for Australian businesses, Cyber Compass.
