Parabellum International has signed a memorandum of understanding with Gascoyne Gateway Marine Complex on the sidelines of the Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition 2026.
The MoU establishes a framework for GGL and Parabellum to work collaboratively to support proposed project work in Exmouth, Western Australia.
PI will reportedly be working with GGL as a catalyst to build sustainable capability in Exmouth and the broader region.
“Today is about much more than signing an MoU. It is about two Western Australian organisations agreeing that major infrastructure investment should create capability and opportunity in the communities where that investment occurs,” according to Carlos Fortuna; GM Government and Defence Services at PI.
“Our ambition with Gascoyne Gateway is to help build something that delivers immediate operational value while also creating long-term benefits for Exmouth and the wider Gascoyne.
“That means local employment, local training, stronger emergency and medical capability, opportunities for regional businesses, and ultimately a more resilient community. Importantly, we want to work with Exmouth, not simply in Exmouth. That means understanding the capability that already exists, partnering locally wherever practical, and adding capability where there are genuine gaps.”
The companies will also reportedly explore opportunities to recruit, train and employ local people across emergency response, medical, safety, and security roles as well as establishing locally based operational support and develop training capability and facilities to support the Exmouth/Gascoyne area.
“GGL is pleased to have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Parabellum International,” according to Michael “Mick” Edwards, Board of Directors for Gascoyne Gateway, Former Royal Australian Navy.
“The MOU reflects a shared commitment from both organisations to significantly invest in the Exmouth community.
“The MOU outlines how GGL and Parabellum will work together to create employment and training opportunities and build health and emergency response capability in the local area should this nation strategic Gascoyne Gateway Marine Complex (GGMC) project be approved and proceed.
“The partnership would also support improved coordination across local emergency services and industry providing future community resilience.”
