Aurora Labs has secured its first commercial sale into the United Kingdom, with two AU4 micro gas turbine engines are heading to UK and European strategic partner Tanglewood Group.

The engines will be evaluated by an international defence customer for a potential future platform application. The initial sale, valued at $32,000, comprises two AU4 turbojet engines and associated integration services.

The sale is expected to open a direct line of engagement with the end customer. The evaluation will support discussions on future volume requirements for production-standard propulsion systems in the 250N+ thrust class, with potential supply commencing in CY27, subject to successful evaluation and agreement on technical and commercial terms.

Tanglewood will also work to explore UK-based manufacturing, integration and supply chain partnerships to help meet the sovereign capability needs of UK and European defence customers.

“This is another important commercial step for Aurora as we continue to build international demand for our propulsion technology and establish relationships with defence customers across key markets,” according to chief executive officer Andrew Garth.

“While the initial order is relatively modest, the opportunity extends beyond the supply of two evaluation engines. It provides a direct pathway to engage with an international defence customer on its future propulsion requirements, including the potential for larger-volume supply of production-standard engines.

“Tanglewood also brings valuable local expertise and relationships in the UK, supporting both the immediate evaluation program and our longer-term ambition to establish scalable manufacturing and supply chain partnerships.

“Following our recent first US engine sale and continued progress with international defence partners, we are seeing increasing opportunities to position Aurora as a supplier of advanced propulsion systems into global defence programs. Our focus remains on converting these engagements into meaningful, recurring commercial opportunities.”

The milestone builds on a recent first US propulsion sale, ongoing AU4 deliveries to Sovereign Propulsion Systems and our strategic collaboration with MBDA.
