Military and Emergency Services Health Australia unveils new appointment to board of governors

Part of the Hospital Research Foundation, Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA) has appointed a new member to the board of governors to support former Australian Defence Force service personnel.

Part of the Hospital Research Foundation, Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA) has appointed a new member to the board of governors to support former Australian Defence Force service personnel.

Adam Watson has been appointed to the MESHA Board of Governors, the organisation has confirmed.

Watson, a current director of Red Ochre Labs at BAE Systems Australia, is expected to help MESHA achieve their mission of improving the lives of former Australian service personnel and their families.

He is also currently the chair of the board of the Defence Teaming Centre.

The appointment was welcomed by the chief executive officer of The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) group Paul Flynn, which oversees MESHA.

“We’re thrilled Adam has agreed to join the advisory board given his deep understanding of service life and his keen interest in the health and welfare of veterans everywhere as well as those who continue to serve. His extensive knowledge and expertise will be a valuable addition to the team,” Flynn said.

According to MESHA, Watson has served in executive roles across the rail, defence and infrastructure sectors, as well as serving for 14 years as an officer within the Australian Army.

Throughout his military service, Watson served in the US, UK, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Australia.

He is the recipient of two United States Meritorious Service Medals for his contribution to Iraq, as well as the US Army Military Order of St Christopher.

Watson looks forward to supporting fellow service personnel.

“I have always been impressed by MESHA’s dedication to actively inform and improve policy, programs and services for current and former serving military and emergency service personnel and importantly their families too,” Watson said.

“I’m looking forward to playing a role to help those people who have volunteered to serve our communities and our nation through their service.”
