Pacific Defense has been selected by Raytheon Australia to deliver electronic warfare capabilities as part of the LAND 555 Phase 6 program.

Under the contract, Pacific Defense is expected to deliver chassis-based EW capabilities such as plug-in cards, mission software, wideband software defined radios and software that enables signal detection and electronic jamming capabilities.

The California-based company is an opens systems integrator that develops Modular Open Systems Approach solutions.

The systems that will be fitted to the Bushmaster are expected to be interoperable with other Australian services including the Royal Australian Air Force and the Royal Australian Navy, as well as Australia’s Five Eyes partners.

“Our company is at the forefront of advanced multi-function radio frequency mission solutions fully aligned with CMOSS and SOSA technical standards,” said Frank Pietryka, VP at Pacific Defense.

"Our industry leading focus on CMOSS mission system integration, along with modular plug-in card and software development, has positioned us to deliver on the Land 555 mission requirement.”

According to a release from Pacific Defense, the systems are aligned with C5ISR Modular Open Suite of Standards as well as the Open Group’s Sensor Open Systems Architecture technical standards. It is hoped that the standards will enhance interoperability between Australia and the US.
