Omni marks 10-year milestone

The defence company has celebrated 10 years of operation across Australia.

Omni — which operated out of Canberra, Queensland, Western Australia, and South Australia — has celebrated a decade of partnership with the government and private industry.

Omni was founded in 2012 by Jon Hawkins, a 25-year veteran of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and now employs approximately 400 professionals working across all five domains to deliver aerospace, consulting, security, maritime and vetting capabilities.

“What started as an idea at our family kitchen table has grown into a team of talented professionals across the country, but Omni’s purpose — developing and maintaining genuinely Australian sovereign capability has never deviated,” Omni’s founder and chief executive Jon Hawkins said.

“From its inception, Omni has strived to build sovereign defence capability onshore and fill the local industry gap that often forced Australia to rely on purchasing overseas technology.

“Over Omni’s 10 years of operations, we have forged partnerships with the Australian government as our nation increases sovereign control of our national security efforts.”

Hawkins stated Omni’s ambition to further deepen its relationship with the government during its next phase of growth.

Omni has endeavoured to broaden its local footprint, recently opening a new office in Adelaide.

Earlier this year, Omni acquired AMW Professional Services in a bid to leverage AMW’s “above the line” contracting experience to bolster its offering to clients through the capability life cycle.

AMW was integrated into Omni’s existing services suite, with a view to enhancing the company’s presence in the maritime sector, building on existing services in aerospace, consulting, security, and vetting.
