KBR has been awarded a 12-month extension to its Joint Data Network training contract with the Australian Defence Force, with an extension to run until January 2026.
This contract builds on the original agreement established in 2021, during which approximately 3,500 ADF personnel received training in complex military communications systems.
Joint Data Network (JDN) plays a crucial role in enhancing command and control by ensuring the timely distribution and management of tactical and intelligence data between aircraft, ships, vehicles and ground nodes. This capability significantly improves situational awareness across the force.
KBR’s extensive experience in developing and delivering data-centric technologies has been key to providing commanders with the real-time situational awareness required for informed decision making.
The company’s dedicated JDN team works closely with Defence to design and deliver training programs that are aligned with leading-edge tactical data link technologies, ensuring that personnel are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to utilise these systems effectively in operations.
Nic Maan, Australia defence and security solutions vice president at KBR, said, “The training provided is constantly updated to reflect the evolution of command and control technologies that give the ADF its situational awareness. Our JDN training team is at the forefront of developing critical capabilities within the ADF. The contract extension is a testament to the team’s extraordinary commitment and success in delivering bespoke training tailored to the needs of our Defence Force.”
The extension underscores the ongoing partnership between KBR and the ADF in maintaining and advancing the capabilities of Australia’s military communications infrastructure.
