One of NASA’s most senior figures is set to headline Defence Connect’s sister brand, Space Connect’s Australian Space Summit in May.
A.C. Charania is the agency’s chief technologist, responsible for overseeing collaboration with the private sector while also being a principal adviser to NASA’s administrator.
Charania joins a line-up of global industry figures, including former prime minister Scott Morrison, JAXA’s Dr Naoko Sugita and Ted Mercer, CEO of the Virginia Spaceport Authority.
Before joining NASA, Charania served as vice president of product strategy at Reliable Robotics, a firm working to bring certified autonomous vehicles to commercial aviation.
His previous experience also includes working at Blue Origin to mature its lunar permanence strategy, Blue Moon lunar lander program, and multiple technology initiatives with NASA.
Charania additionally led the formation of the FastForward industry group focused on high-speed point-to-point transportation, was a NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts fellow, and served on the Lunar Exploration Analysis Group Commercial Advisory Board.
The Australian Space Summit & Exhibition will be held on 27 and 28 May at the ICC, Sydney.
