Saab Australia and ST Engineering have announced the signing of a teaming agreement to deliver deployable health solutions for combat field hospitals in the Asia-Pacific region.

Saab and ST Engineering have announced a new teaming agreement that builds on their long-standing global partnership, reinforcing their joint commitment to exploring defence opportunities across strategically aligned markets.

The agreement supports a shared vision between Saab and ST Engineering’s unmanned and integrated systems business to deliver scalable, adaptable health support solutions for a broad range of operational scenarios. These include armed conflict, peacekeeping operations and humanitarian aid missions across multiple defence domains.

Andy Keough CSC, managing director of Saab Australia, said the partnership brought together the complementary strengths of both organisations to deliver world-class capabilities.

“This collaboration enables us to provide defence personnel with the confidence to train and operate effectively, wherever they’re deployed,” Keough said.

“Saab is proud to be trusted with delivering deployable health capabilities for the Australian Defence Force, and we’ve built a strong track record of success across Europe. Our experience in supporting defence forces globally, combined with our focus on future regional opportunities, ensures we are well placed to meet evolving defence health requirements throughout the Indo-Pacific.”

Goh Ming Joo, general manager of unmanned and integrated systems, Digital Systems at ST Engineering, said the agreement would pave the way for next-generation field hospital capabilities.

“This partnership draws on ST Engineering’s expertise in unmanned integrated systems and automation, combined with Saab’s deep domain knowledge, to deliver cutting-edge health solutions vital to combat environments,” Goh said.

“At ST Engineering, we are committed to advancing rapid response capabilities that reduce treatment time and improve survival rates in the field.”

“Our systems are designed to support front-line personnel and communities in need, across military, humanitarian and disaster relief operations, by ensuring reliable, consistent medical care wherever it’s needed.”

The partnership reflects both companies’ focus on innovation and regional cooperation, as defence forces across the globe continue to modernise their health and support capabilities in response to increasingly complex operational environments.
