Northrop Grumman Corporation’s propulsion technology has played a pivotal role in recent qualification tests, proving the readiness and reliability of the United States Army’s Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) Increment 1.
The company supplies the solid rocket motor (SRM) to Lockheed Martin in support of the US Army’s long-range precision strike modernisation program.
Already certified for use with the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, the latest successful testing from the M270A2 launcher further validates the PrSM’s precision and performance across a range of challenging conditions. Northrop Grumman’s SRM is a key enabler of the missile’s extended range and power, offering enhanced stand-off capabilities for deployed forces.
“As the propulsion provider for PrSM and a range of critical strike missile programs, Northrop Grumman remains committed to delivering solid rocket motors that boost performance, range and reliability,” said Frank DeMauro, vice president and general manager of weapon systems at Northrop Grumman.
“Northrop Grumman continues to develop advanced propulsion systems that support milestone achievements such as the PrSM’s launcher qualification,” DeMauro added. “With robust US production capacity, integrated advanced technologies including machine learning and a focus on pioneering disruptive solutions, we are leading the way in delivering propulsion systems across the small, medium and large missile categories. Our commitment to innovation and operational excellence underpins mission success.”
