ADFA Commandant Brigadier Cheryl Pearce said ADFA is a proud partner with UNSW Canberra and a great supporter of the Invictus Games.

UNSW Canberra rector Professor Michael Frater said, “We’re aligning the purpose of the UNSW Veterans Scholarship closely with the values of the Games. We hope to carry on the legacy of the Invictus Games, which supports wounded warriors and their families by raising awareness of life after service, highlighting the difficulties they face in transitioning to new careers, all while celebrating their achievements.”

The scholarship is open to former and current Australian service personnel who are making the transition from military to civilian life, and their dependents. Recipients can undertake any undergraduate or postgraduate course at either UNSW Sydney or UNSW Canberra.

“The Invictus Games has been a great initiative and I have seen the continued positive impact on wounded, injured and ill current and former serving members,” BRIG Pearce said.

There will be a range of Make Your Mark Down Under activities in support of the Invictus Games in the lead up to the event in Sydney in October 2018.

“Our support to the UNSW Veterans Scholarship will, through the power of education, help support former Australian Defence Force personnel and their families make the journey from military to civilian life,” Professor Frater said.
