Veteran support charity Mates4Mates has launched a new line of merchandise to raise funds for veterans seeking help for support and rehabilitation purposes.
Products such as reusable KeepCups, water bottles, active towels and clothing are now being sold by the charity, which supports current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members who have physical or psychological injuries as a result of their service, as well as their families, by offering specialised rehabilitation and support.
“With the support of the community purchasing Mates4Mates products, we can inject more funds into life-changing services,” Mates4Mates CEO Troy Watson said.
“Many who are injured as a result of service experience difficulties recovering and transitioning to civilian life – so it’s vital that they have access to adequate support.
“We provide tailored programs for individuals through a combination of psychological support, physical rehabilitation activities and peer support through social connection.”
Last year, Mates4Mates provided over 26,000 face-to-face contacts across Australia, including 4,100 psychology appointments, 13,800 physical rehabilitation and wellbeing connections and 8,000 social connects through regular activities.
“Stock up on an active gym towel to help us provide activities like trauma yoga, exercise physiologist sessions and cycling programs, or a KeepCup or water bottle to help expand various services like social connection activities for mates and families,” Watson said.
