Aussie Cablex partners with US Violet Defense to introduce UV disinfection capability

Australia-based Cablex, a manufacturer, integrator and exporter of complex solutions for the defence, aerospace and transportation markets, announced that it has entered into a strategic agreement with Violet Defense, a US-based producer of pulsed Xenon UV disinfection devices.

Australia-based Cablex, a manufacturer, integrator and exporter of complex solutions for the defence, aerospace and transportation markets, announced that it has entered into a strategic agreement with Violet Defense, a US-based producer of pulsed Xenon UV disinfection devices.

Under this arrangement, Cablex will act as the designated representative and local supplier of Violet Defense’s UV disinfection products that leverage their patented technology to harness the proven power of ultraviolet light for use in everyday spaces, with the long-term plan to bring regional manufacturing of Violet Defense’s products to Australia.

Michael Zimmer, CEO of Cablex, welcomed the partnership, saying, “Australia has been leading the world in developing the crisis response to this pandemic, but as people return to ‘normal,’ we need to help businesses implement proven and trusted solutions to deliver clean and disinfected environments.”

“UV disinfection is a solution that is already proven and available, so we are proud to be partnering with Violet Defense to bring their patented technology to help make Australians feel safer as the economy opens up,” Zimmer added.

Violet Defense’s technology has been independently validated to kill up to 99.9 per cent of E. coli, salmonella, MRSA, C. diff., Norovirus, and C. auris. Most recently, it has been independently validated to kill up to 99.99 per cent of human coronavirus, strain 229E, an accepted testing surrogate for the SARS-COV-2 virus, at a distance of two metres.

Terrance Berland, CEO of Violet Defense, added, “We are very excited to be partnering with Cablex to introduce our technology into the Australian market. Combining both their unique relationships within the government sector and their high-end manufacturing and assembly capabilities, Cablex will have the technical expertise and the connections needed to properly position our SAGE UV line of products as a critical part of the solution to help protect against the threat of COVID-19 and other harmful pathogens.”

Together with Violet Defense as its technology partner, Cablex will research and create opportunities to bring both mobile and installed UV disinfection solutions to government organizations and other settings across Australia. Due to the unique combination of their power, effectiveness, size, and price point.

Violet Defense’s products have already been deployed in a variety of uses, including public transit, emergency response vehicles and command centres, schools, hotels, commercial office buildings, operating rooms, athletic facilities and more.

Established in 1985, Cablex is a privately owned Australian company headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. Cablex is Australia’s leading manufacturer and exporter of complex Electrical Wiring InterConnect Systems, electromechanical assemblies, avionic bays, consoles and box build electrical enclosures for the Defence and Aerospace market.

Cablex has significant experience in developing and manufacturing electrical systems for harsh environments and developing solutions where electrical noise is a critical factor. Cablex offers bespoke end-to-end world-class engineering support and C4I systems engineering and integration.

Violet Defense uses UV disinfection to protect everyday spaces from harmful pathogens by killing up to 99.9 per cent of bacteria and viruses. Violet Defense’s technology is the only known Pulsed Xenon solution that can be installed into a room full-time, creating a continuous way to address disinfection needs of all types of settings.
