The ASX-listed company has upgraded its counter UAV offering, installing a new sonar detection system.

DroneShield’s multi-domain DroneSentry counter-drone threat awareness and response product has been reinforced with SonarOne — a sonar detection system designed to deliver directional real-time reporting of underwater threats.

The new detection system has been built to detect and track hostile unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) and diver intruders in protected waters.

 
 

According to the company, the platform is suited for deployment around naval vessels, harbours, and critical infrastructure.

SonarOne can be monitored via the DroneSentry-C2, DroneShield’s operator interface.

“With the inclusion of SonarOne, the DroneSentry system provides a comprehensive all-domain awareness and protection system, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), unmanned water surface vehicles (USVs), UUVs, and divers,” DroneShield CEO Oleg Vornik said.

According to the company, SonarOne can protect large sites with few installation points, reducing preparation time and limiting the need for pre-existing infrastructure.

The new offering, which is unrestricted in deployment, is expected to attract interest from a wide range of customers, including ports, harbours, naval bases, private yachts, residences, power stations, and various offshore platforms.

The unveiling of SonarOne comes just a week after the company released CompassOne — a self-contained navigation system, built for fixed site, vehicle and marine applications. 

The new product is designed to provide military-grade location, orientation and direction sensing capability for both static and moving platforms.

According to DroneShield, CompassOne is compatible with global navigation satellite systems, and can be used in counter-UAS operations and general situations requiring satellite navigation.

The platform is built to withstand harsh environments, leveraging military-grade connectors, stainless-steel hardware, and an aluminium underside.

The device can be integrated with other devices, including DroneShield’s DroneSentry system.
