Tech innovators across the defence industry have been invited by the prime to showcase advanced offerings.
In collaboration with finance company Bondi Partners, Northrop Grumman Australia will host a virtual technology and innovation event next month (7 February), aimed at providing local SMEs with an opportunity to showcase innovative technologies.
Solutions to be presented during the inaugural Australian Tech and Innovation Showcase include advanced autonomous technology, payload development and digital enterprise solutions designed for the future joint force.
Eleven defence technology companies from across the country are expected to participate, demonstrating their offerings before a panel of judges.
Finalists include Athena Artificial Intelligence, Dingo Defence, Euclideon Holographics, Fortifyedge, GEV Systems, Guardware Australia, Nominal Systems, Pivot Maritime International, Skyborne Technologies, UXMachines and Vai Photonics.
The technologies are designed to counter emerging threats while delivering future capability to the Australian Defence Force — leveraging multi-domain concepts, advanced technologies and integrated designs.
This is tipped to foster the development of future unmanned intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting (ISR&T) capabilities.
The companies may be presented with business optimisation opportunities provided by Northrop Grumman Australia via a year-long mentorship program, facilitating access to the prime’s Parallax Labs — a collaborative environment to test technology and solution approaches to develop next generation systems in support of the future joint Australian Defence Force.
According to Christine Zeitz, general manager, Northrop Grumman Asia Pacific, the event is a demonstration of the prime’s commitment to supporting the growth of sovereign defence capability.
“Partnerships are born from innovation and together, we have the opportunity to support up and coming Australian defence innovators to become a part of the Northrop Grumman global supply chain and jointly develop technologies that will further future autonomous aircraft and advanced networking capabilities for the joint force,” Zeitz said.
