Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) has partnered with French tyre manufacturer Michelin to cooperate on the development of enhanced defence mobility solutions.

The agreement between both companies was announced during Eurosatory 2022 in Paris, with the companies represented by Michael Wittlinger, chief executive officer, Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles and Bénédicte de Bonnechose, executive vice president, Michelin, long-distance and urban transportation, Europe Regions.

The companies are expected to examine opportunities, share experience and coordinate on the development of tyres that may be used in future projects.

“This agreement is an important step in paving the way for a more active and diversified collaboration,” RMMV’s Wittlinger said.

“Working with Michelin has proven fruitful for a long period of time. Now, we are happy to take the next step together towards deepening the existing bonds.”

A joint venture of Rheinmetall AG and MAN Truck & Bus AG, RMMV combines over 100 years of engineering and production experience of military vehicles. Within the flagship HX family of tactical trucks, over 15,000 4x4 to 10x10 models of the truck are in existence across over 20 nations.

Meanwhile, Michelin is present in 171 countries, counting some 114,000 employees.
