Michael Ward, managing director of Raytheon Australia, welcomed the chance to support the veteran community.

“Our ongoing commitment to Australia’s veteran community is important to the entire defence ecosystem – we understand the valuable contribution that veterans make to the nation as a whole. Programs like this play a pivotal role in helping veterans transition from their time in uniform and provide them with opportunities to apply their unique skills to better the defence industry,” Ward said.

Matt Opie, director for Defence and Space at the University of South Australia, explained how important the VEEP is for enabling veterans to achieve higher education.

“The University of South Australia is a leader in defence research and education and also support for our veterans, and Raytheon Australia’s scholarship is a good example of this. The University of South Australia Veterans Engagement and Education Program, known as VEEP, provides support for veterans through their university degree. We are proud to work with defence industry companies such as Raytheon Australia to do this.”
