Ventia has appointed Andrew Bartlett to the newly created role of general manager, defence base services business.

Bartlett, who has served for two years as the project director, national operations and quality, will now report directly to the executive general manager, defence, Gavin Campbell.

The new appointee is expected to leverage his experience leading the strategic development and implementation of major transformation initiatives.

This has included 24 years of service with Qantas, during which he held a number of roles, ranging from ground engineer to leading the Maintenance Operations Centre and Airport Services, Regional Airports and customer operations.

Campbell welcomed the appointment, reflecting on Bartlett’s suitability for the role.

“As a top 10 prime contractor for Defence, we’re pushing ahead with a number of improvement activities, seeing great momentum and receiving deserved recognition from our client,” Campbell said.

“Our focus is to deliver a client-focused, consistent and standardised service across the 70-plus bases we support.

“Andrew’s leadership, alongside his passion for technical and customer excellence, will help us meet our commitment to driving collaborative relationships with our contract partners to deliver the services that contribute to the Australian Defence Force’s operations today and supporting Australia’s future defence capability needs.”
