China’s Ministry of National Defense working group has met with military representatives of Laos, Vietnam, and Brunei this week.
Defence department officials from each country held talks from 8 to 15 February, according to a statement released by the Chinese Ministry of National Defense.
The group discussed military to military relations and shared regional security issues of concern. They also conducted in-depth consultations on the construction of bilateral defence cooperation mechanisms.
Later this week, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy will send the guided-missile destroyer, Nanning, to attend the naval defense and maritime security exhibition NAVDEX in Abu Dhabi.
The visit is at the invitation of the United Arab Emirates military and NAVDEX runs from 17 to 25 February. The vessel will be open to the public and host seminars, mutual visits, sports competitions, and friendly exchange activities with ships from other countries.
