A NSW-based defence digital engineering capability is in the works with the ADROITA business advisory consultancy set to receive the NSW government’s Jobs Plus support.

The Sydney company anticipates that the grant will create more than 30 new skilled jobs over the next two years, adding to its already established employee base in Canberra, Melbourne, Wollongong, and Adelaide.

Under the grant, ADROITA will deliver a service offering including model-based systems engineering, digital sovereign test and evaluation, modelling and simulation, digital twin development, and other advanced data analytics such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and decision support.

ADROITA chief executive officer Sarah Pavillard said the grant will improve the productivity of the NSW economy and lead the transition to digital engineering, meeting trends identified in the NSW government’s NSW 2040 Economic Blueprint.

“Digital engineering is to the engineer what Industry 4.0 is to the manufacturer,” Ms Pavillard said.

“Digital engineering requires the integration of modern digital enterprise systems with data-driven techniques such as decision support and data engineering, modelling and simulation, and digital systems engineering, to provide a modern, integrated approach to manage the life cycles of complex defence systems from concept through to disposal.

“This will enable ADROITA to unlock and utilise big data to deliver more bang for buck and decision-making superiority to our clients, while also creating a new highly skilled, technically-capable, and well-paid future workforce whose skills may translate to other emergent sectors such as space.”

NSW Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade Alister Henskens said Jobs Plus will help to drive the NSW economy forward in line with the long-term economic plan.

“These jobs will boost the state’s thriving economy, help to develop even more world-leading products, and cement NSW as Australia’s innovation capital,” Mr Henskens said.
