Rohde & Schwarz Australia has announced the appointment of Gareth Evans as its new managing director, and will look to “further sharpen the company’s profile as a turnkey supplier for superior communications solutions for the Australian Defence Force and government agencies”.
Evans has over 20 years' experience in the high-tech intensive defence, aerospace and transportation industries, and has held various managerial positions in these industries at both global and medium-sized enterprises.
Before taking up his role at Rohde & Schwarz he was executive general manager, technology services at SYSTRA Scott Lister.
Rohde & Schwarz Australia is responsible for the design and delivery for the Royal Austalian Navy's Hobart Class DDGs external communications system.
More recently, the company has been selected to deliver a new nationwide air traffic control (ATC) communications system for the Airways Corporation of New Zealand.
“The technological expertise of our sovereign capability coupled with our corporate reach back and technology innovations means we provide superior solutions today, that are able to continually evolve and adapt to tomorrow," Evans said.
Rohde & Schwarz Australia established a headquarters in Sydney in 1981, addressing different market segments with information and communications technology solutions.
The company also had experience delivering solutions across the full capability life cycle, including system engineering and integration, project management, capability sustainment and service support (including in-country accredited repair and calibration lab) throughout the pacific region.
