The Schools Pathways Program has been awarded an extra $1.4 million of grant funding, which marks the first step at implementing the Defence Industry Skilling and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Strategy.

The Schools Pathways Program has been awarded an extra $1.4 million of grant funding, which marks the first step at implementing the Defence Industry Skilling and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Strategy.

The program aims to inform young Australians about the various pathways and career opportunities that can be offered within the defence industry sector.

Minister for Defence Industry Linda Reynolds said the program supported the national effort to improve the take-up of STEM studies and careers at participating schools.

“Supporting key objectives of the Defence Industry Skilling and STEM Strategy, the program continues to improve access to information about defence industry and encourage student engagement in STEM,” Minister Reynolds said.

“The program supports the government’s commitment to investing in the future defence industry workforce and building a robust, resilient and internationally competitive Australian defence industrial base.”
