Queensland-based B&R Enclosures, a provider of design, manufacture and electrical integration of electrical and data enclosures, has partnered with Dassault Systemes to implement the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to develop digital capabilities and achieve greater operational efficiencies.

B&R Enclosures was looking to make a transformative leap in its product management and invest in customisable manufacturing techniques to gain a competitive edge and stay ahead of the changing demands of the manufacturing market.

As a participant of the Virtual Shipyard Program, B&R was able to witness first-hand how the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform could help SMEs level-up their business transformation and better compete in the global manufacturing sector.

Chris Bridges-Taylor, general manager, B&R Enclosures, said, "I know first-hand that there is real interest in digital transformation as a strategy to support the prosperity and growth of Australian SMEs. B&R is delighted to have Dassault Systèmes as one of our key partners in our Industry 4.0 journey due to Dassault Systèmes' experience and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform’s attributes."

With a focus on increasing information transparency across its design and production processes, B&R Enclosures piloted the use of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to improve collaboration and streamline decision-making. Key benefits include:

  • Information transparency across design and production process: The platform will allow everyone across the ecosystem, from customers to suppliers, to gain access to a single digital source of product information. This means that information can be shared in real time, enabling different teams to better collaborate with one another and resolve potential issues in a timely manner.
  • Agility to respond to customer needs: As products are digitally designed, design knowledge can be re-used to improve efficiency and better manage engineer-to-order products and the product life cycle of its standard products.
  • Lead the market: Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform is the only platform that is both a system of operations and a business model. By harnessing technologies built for knowledge sharing and know-how application – inventing, learning, producing and training can be aligned to provide fulfilling customer experiences and not just as-expected products and services. B&R Enclosures can quickly develop new design and manufacturing concepts and pursue new business opportunities in a fast-changing global market.
  • Train the future workforce: In order to compete internationally, B&R Enclosures is investing in training to upskill their workforce for the future and collaborative ways of working with new transformative digital technologies.

Masaki Konno, managing director, Asia-Pacific south, Dassault Systèmes, said, "For decades, we have been a vital partner for the greatest industrial transformations, helping leading companies across industries to rethink their ways of working, using the virtual world to improve the real world. We bring best practices from every industry to our customers, enabling them to stand on the shoulders of giants.

"The Virtual Shipyard Program showcases the best of our capabilities on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, enabling companies to design, analyse, simulate and collaborate in an interactive environment. We are proud to partner with B&R Enclosures in its transformation journey,' Konno added.

Dassault Systèmes provides business and people with virtual universes to imagine sustainable innovations. Its world-leading solutions transform the way products are designed, produced and supported.

Dassault Systèmes’  brings value to over 250,000 customers of all sizes, in all industries, in more than 140 countries.
