“We’re bringing together the best of Boeing from across the globe as well as experts from industry, suppliers, technology vendors, research organisations and universities to support the growth of Australia’s additive manufacturing industry for aerospace and space applications,” Melissa Orme, Boeing Additive Manufacturing vice president, said.

The Webinars are scheduled over the next three weeks, with the first series examining additive manufacturing in aerospace, Boeing’s digital additive manufacturing, certification of additive manufacturing and the future of additive manufacturing. The event is to be held on 21 October.

“With discussions ranging from the how to achieve repeatability and reliability, to the application of digital twins to simulation and modelling, substantiated by actual use cases, the first event will provide pragmatic information for Australian additive manufacturers looking to enter the defence industry and access global supply chains,” Orme continued.

The second webinar, scheduled for 28 October, features representatives from small to medium enterprises, academia and the Defence Science and Technology Group “presenting from the perspective of primes”.

The final webinar is expected to discuss how Australian businesses can collaborate with primes to commercialise their additive manufacturing technologies.
