The integration of the Beacon maintenance co-ordination platform is expected to support the airline’s digital transformation and streamline its maintenance capabilities.

EmbraerX confirmed that the company has signed a multi-year Services Agreement with US based Republic Airways Inc for use of Embraer’s Beacon maintenance co-ordination platform, with the platform expected to support the ongoing digital transformation of the airline.

According to a release from Embraer, the Beacon maintenance platform will be used to support Republic's aircraft maintenance operations and expedite each aircraft’s return-to-service time. The capability improvements will be achieved by enabling the airline to integrate their on-call maintenance providers across Republic’s stations.

Currently, Republic Airways is one of the United States’ biggest regional operators, managing a fleet of 223 aircraft and partnering with three of the nation’s largest carriers for regional flights.

The pair initially collaborated in 2020, when the airline partnered with Beacon as a launch customer for the country’s commercial aviation sectors, providing widespread efficiencies in aircraft maintenance.

“When we introduced Beacon, we were determined to find a better way to manage our daily maintenance operations and continue driving efficiencies. Beacon has allowed our teams to be more mobile – to track, join and connect to events – bringing aircraft back to service faster by bringing our ecosystem of partners on board with the digital transformation. Our success depends on supporting our partners in doing work efficiently,” Dale Cash, director of maintenance at Republic Airways, said.

The announcement comes as Embraer, Fokker Techniek and Fokker Services signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the defence industry.

According to a release from the company, the MoU opens opportunities for the companies to team-up and explore for a broad range of activities in the defence, commercial and support markets.

Roland van Dijk, CEO of Fokker Techniek, explained that Embraer was an ideal partner for the collaboration.

"Our heritage and deep understanding of aircraft products and solutions will allow us to bring a unique perspective to the many development areas that Embraer is investigating,” van Dijk said.

“Fokker Techniek and Fokker Services are well-known and reputable aerospace companies with roots in building aircraft and supporting aircraft fleets worldwide.

"Their network, experience and worldwide recognised aviation tradition will be a perfect match with Embraer Services and Support."

In the coming months, Embraer, Fokker Services and Fokker Techniek will discuss a variety of opportunities and look to leverage their respective expertise and capabilities in new projects.
