The firm has announced the retirement of its chief executive.

Engineers Australia has revealed that its CEO, Dr Bronwyn Evans AM, will retire in April 2022, wrapping up three years in the role.

Since joining the firm, Dr Evans' work has included the successfully advocacy of compulsory registration of engineers, promoted women in STEM, and supported climate change initiatives, including the development of the Climate Smart Engineering conference, headlined by former US Vice President Al Gore.

 
 

Dr Nick Fleming, chair of Engineers Australia, thanked Dr Evans for her contribution to the firm.

“Dr Evans will leave Engineers Australia in a position of great strength, after working closely with the board to set a bold, ambitious agenda for strategic transformation, and for personally leading investment in employee culture and experience,” Dr Fleming said.

“… While the board and her team will miss her enormously, we know Dr Evans will continue to be a part of the Engineers Australia community and a leading voice across all facets of the profession.”

Engineers Australia is yet to announce Dr Evans successor as CEO.
