Hanwha’s Chunmoo rocket systems shipped for Polish Army

Under an executive contract signed on November 2022, Hanwha Aerospace will deliver the first squadron of 18 Chunmoo systems to Poland’s 18th Mechanized Division before the end of 2023.

Each launcher is capable of firing multiple calibre projectiles including six 239mm calibre guided missiles with a range of about 80 kilometres or one ballistic missile with a range of about 290 kilometres.

“This shipment came just a month after the initial batch of three Jelcz (Polish military truck) vehicles arrived in Korea to be assembled and integrated at Hanwha’s factory, while all the remaining 200 (plus) Polish Chunmoo systems dubbed HOMAR-K will be manufactured in Poland in partnership with Polish defence partners, which is expected to maximise the economic benefits to the local industry,” a Hanwha spokesperson said.
