Israel Aerospace Industries has announced their Multi-Mission Radar system has successfully passed military tests with the Czech Army.

The MMR radar was originally provided under a contract signed by Czech Defence Ministry in December 2019. The agreement also included industrial cooperation between Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Czech companies RETIA and VTU for technology transfer, production, and maintenance.

MMR radar can be used for air defence, air surveillance, counter rocket artillery, and mortar and fire control operations.

IAI vice-president and Elta chief executive officer Yoav Tourgeman said 200 systems have been sold worldwide and integrated into air defence systems such as Barak and the Iron Dome.

“IAI’s MMR radars can be found in all of Israel’s defensive systems and have proven their operational effectiveness providing air situational picture for many years and assisting air and missile defence,” he said.

The MMR radars are compatible with NATO systems for advanced defence against airborne threats and will replace previous Russian origin radar equipment.
