Queensland Police have charged and extradited a Victorian man in relation to the alleged theft of an Australian Defence Force vehicle earlier this month.

It will be alleged that around 2:25am on Thursday, 18 July, the 26-year-old man gained access to the Samford Road property, Enoggera, where the vehicle was driven away from.

The vehicle was later located abandoned near Tel El Kebir Street at Mitchelton, with graffiti on it.

Following a joint interstate investigation between Queensland Police and Victoria Police, a search warrant was executed at a Golden Square, Bendigo address in Victoria this weekend, where the 26-year-old Keperra man was taken into custody.

He has since been extradited from Victoria to Brisbane, where he has been formally charged with entering premises and committing indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and wilful damage.

The man was remanded in police custody and is due to reappear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, 29 July.

Investigations into the incident continue.
