South Australian company APC Technology has emerged as a key contributor to the Australian Army’s LAND 400 Phase 3 Project, working alongside Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) to design, engineer and manufacture cutting-edge displays for next-generation combat vehicles.

APC is supplying both the Australian Standard Generic Vehicle Architecture (ASGVA) screens and large briefing displays for integration into the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) and Joint Fires (JF) vehicles. These mission-critical systems are designed and built in South Australia, underlining the state’s growing role in sovereign defence capability.

Project mobilisation began in mid-2024, launching a comprehensive design and engineering phase. By early 2025, APC had completed a rigorous two-stage prototyping process, meeting – and in some cases, exceeding – stringent environmental testing and technical standards.

Craig Williams, managing director of APC Technology, said the project reflects both the company’s technical prowess and its commitment to Australian innovation.

“Our team has demonstrated exceptional engineering and manufacturing capabilities throughout the LAND 400 Phase 3 program,” Williams said. “Exceeding environmental testing standards and achieving key milestones highlights our commitment to delivering world-class defence technology. This project is a testament to Australian innovation and expertise.”

In addition to meeting performance requirements, APC provided vital support for Hanwha’s contractual and operational objectives, reinforcing its position as a trusted and capable defence partner.

Hanwha Defence Australia praised APC’s role in the development of the LAND 400 mission system.

“APC Technology’s expertise in designing and manufacturing mission-critical displays has been instrumental in developing the mission system for LAND 400 Phase 3,” an HDA spokesperson said. “APC’s ability to deliver high-quality solutions that meet stringent defence standards ensures our platforms remain at the forefront of technological excellence. We look forward to continuing this successful collaboration.”

The partnership continues to focus on innovation and evolving the capabilities of future defence platforms to meet the changing needs of the Australian Defence Force.

With successful prototyping now complete, APC is preparing to scale up for full-rate production, which is expected to commence in 2026.

Through advanced engineering, precision manufacturing, and an unwavering focus on delivering mission-critical defence solutions, APC Technology remains at the forefront of Australia’s defence industry, helping to shape the future of Army capability under LAND 400 Phase 3.
