Australian Defence Force personnel have been recognised in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours List.

Australian Defence Force personnel have been recognised in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours List.

The King’s Birthday 2025 Honours List officially recognises 830 Australians, including awards in the Order of Australia (general and military divisions), meritorious awards and recognition for distinguished and conspicuous service.

One hundred military high achievers on the list were recognised for their efforts across defence in command and control, combat capability, intelligence, engineering, aviation, logistics, plans, governance, personnel, training, data, music, medicine, health and safety.

Major General Colin Karotam is appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service as the head of Military Strategic Planning, First Assistant Director General Expeditionary and Transnational Intelligence, and Commander Defence Signals Intelligence and Cyber Command.

Also appointed AOs in the military division are Major General Wade Stothart, for distinguished service in leading strategic people capability innovation and reform, and Air Vice-Marshal Barbara Courtney, for distinguished service in senior command and staff roles.

Outside the military recipients, Defence member Kylie Wright, Assistant Secretary of Defence Industry International Policy, is awarded the Public Service Medal.

“I am delighted to congratulate all those recognised in the King’s Birthday 2025 Honours List,” Governor-General Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC said.

“These honours recognise the selfless service, integrity, achievement, creativity and care that flourish across our country.

“As your governor-general, I see the values of care, kindness and respect in the many Australians who are honoured today, and in those who have been recognised throughout the 50-year history of our Australian honours system.

“Every day, and all across the country, Australians are doing extraordinary things with passion, generosity, energy and resolve. To all who are being recognised in the King’s Birthday 2025 Honours List, I want to offer my congratulations and gratitude for all that you have given to Australia – and I look forward to meeting many of you at the investiture of your awards.
