Aquaterro Australia will supply integrated, multi-threat body armour systems to the Northern Territory Police Force under an NT Police body armour contract.
The five-year contract will equip NT police officers with enhanced load bearing vests (ELBV) made in Australia and designed by Aquaterro’s Peacemaker division.
The vests are expected to be used by Northern Territory Police in remote and rural patrols, armed confrontations and domestic violence response call outs.
“This contract represents a strategic investment by the NTPF to enhance the safety and operational efficiency of its officers,” Aquaterro chief executive officer and founder Graeme Bulte said.
“By integrating ballistic protection with research-based, load-bearing functionality, the vests aim to reduce the physical strain and optimise thermos regulation on officers to improve their ability to carry essential equipment during on-duty operations.
“At its core, the contract ensures that front-line police officers are better protected against ballistic threats. These vests are not just standard-issue equipment; they offer integrated ballistic resistance, helping to mitigate life-threatening injuries during high-risk operations.
“In a region as vast and diverse as the Northern Territory, where back-up can be hours away, personal protection is critical. The ELBV provides peace of mind to officers and their families.”
