A 46-year-old North Ipswich man has been taken into custody by police after allegedly being located on a Defence base at Amberley in Queensland.
The man was taken into police custody after allegedly being found on the base, unauthorised, around 3am on 17 September this year.
“Around 3am on 17 September, an unauthorised man was located on a defence base at Amberley. A 46-year-old North Ipswich was taken into custody by police without any further incident,” according to a Queensland Police Service spokesperson.
“Police investigations into the matter remain ongoing with the assistance of Defence.”
It’s understood that the man’s reported use of a forklift at the Defence base is being investigated by Queensland Police.
Defence and the Queensland Police Service are investigating further.
“Defence can confirm an unauthorised individual was detected on RAAF Base Amberley,” according to a Defence spokesperson.
“Queensland Police took custody of this individual and the matter is currently under investigation by Queensland Police.”
