American firearms manufacturer Titus Arms has confirmed it would be interested in supplying modified F88 Austeyr rifles to the US commercial market if a supply source became available.
Titus Arms recently made a media splash at the recent SHOT Show 2026 (Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show) held in Las Vegas last month.
The company garnered significant attention for an announcement that it is modifying “NylAUG” style bullpup rifles, using surplus Austrian and Malaysian parts kits, to produce an affordable semi-automatic rifle for the US civilian market.
Those rifles feature original Steyr components alongside 3D printed receivers, new production barrels and AR-15 trigger components.
“We have a large number of customer requests for additional rifles. At this time we are primarily using Malaysian and Austrian parts kits, as currently there is not a source for F88 import parts,” according to Jacob Kilian from Vanguard Arms LLC.
“If a source was to become available and the imports/exports process gets the appropriate approval from US and Australian authorities; we would be greatly interested in demilling them and converting them to sporting rifles in the US.
“Our team brings 50 years of combined engineering and conversion experience in this area, and I know we would be quite excited at the prospect of an F88 import.”
F88 Austeyr rifles chambered in 5.56mm NATO had been used as the Australian Army’s standard combat weapon between 2009 and 2016. The rifle was replaced by the Enhanced F88 in 2016.
