Queensland advanced manufacturing AEP Engineering has announced plans to showcase its Concept Demonstrator Armoured UTV at the upcoming Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition 2026.

Queensland advanced manufacturing AEP Engineering has announced plans to showcase its Concept Demonstrator Armoured UTV at the upcoming Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition 2026.

The exhibition is held in Perth from 6 to 8 October at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The concept is reportedly designed as a light protected mobility, allowing practical survivability and adaptable vehicle systems for Defence, security and specialist operational users.

“We are preparing to take two important concept demonstrators across the country. Our Concept Demonstrator Armoured UTV and our Concept Blast Cab, produced in appropriate-thickness steel to demonstrate the design intent, geometry, protection philosophy and manufacturing pathway,” a statement from the defence company said.

“The Blast Cab and Armoured UTV are concept demonstrators, but they represent something much bigger: AEP’s commitment to building credible, testable and scalable protected mobility solutions from North Queensland.

“It’s a statement of direction. We are investing significant resources to be there.

“The logistics alone are an adventure: moving equipment, vehicles, display assets and people from North Queensland to Perth is no small undertaking. But that is part of the story.

“AEP is prepared to do the hard yards to show what regional Australian engineering and manufacturing capability can contribute to the Defence and protected mobility sector.

“Our focus is clear. Protected mobility, blast and ballistic survivability concepts, specialist vehicle engineering, practical design for real operational environments, sovereign Australian capability and regional advanced manufacturing.

“We are looking forward to meeting Defence, industry partners, primes, suppliers, veterans, engineers and capability stakeholders in Perth.”
