Defence weapon mounts manufacturer W&E Platt has completed installation of ring mounts on several Brazilian Army VBTP-MR Guarani 6×6 armoured vehicles.
The new installations and weapon mounts were shown off by the Brazilian Army’s 16th Mechanized Cavalry Regiment earlier this month.
The integration of the MR550 Ring Mount enhances the Guarani’s operational capability by providing a protected, versatile platform for multiple crew-served weapons, according to the company.
“Completed on 9 July 2026 … W&E Platt has proudly supported the Brazilian Army through the supply of more than 250 ring mounts for its Guarani 6×6 armoured vehicle fleet,” the company said in the public statement.
“Armoured overhead protection kit, full 360-degree traverse and effective weapon mobility provide enhanced gunner protection and responsive target engagement.
“Our congratulations to the command, soldiers and technical personnel of the 16º RC Mec involved in bringing this capability into service.”
The weapon station allows the use of different weapons such as .50 calibre machine guns, offering greater operational flexibility and security through its armoured structure.
The turret facilitates observation, target acquisition and weapon control during firing.
