The Australian Missile Corporation has selected Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA and SolidWorks applications powered by its 3DEXPERIENCE platform to support the company as it rapidly designs, simulates, tests and manufactures systems under Australia’s Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Enterprise.
Dassault Systèmes was selected for its best-in-class model-based systems engineering capabilities – proven to operate in secure environments – and established expertise in aerospace and defence, built over decades of supporting mission-critical programs globally.
The deployment comes as Australia scales domestic guided-weapons manufacturing under the GWEO Enterprise, backed by up to $21 billion in government investment over the decade.
This is reinforced by the 2026 National Defence Strategy, released in April, which places renewed emphasis on self-reliance and the resilience of Australia’s sovereign defence industrial base.
“As part of Australia’s Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Enterprise, we are focused on building robust, sovereign engineering capability to support the nation’s long-term defence needs,” said Matt Gibson, chief executive officer, Australian Missile Corporation.
“The adoption of Dassault Systèmes’ model-based engineering applications enhances our ability to manage complex system and mission requirements, improve engineering discipline and ensure traceability across the development life cycle of critical defence programs.
“This supports our role in strengthening Australia’s domestic guided weapons manufacturing capability.”
An Australian-owned, independently operated company, AMC is an industry partner of the GWEO Group in establishing a domestic GWEO manufacturing capability. AMC works alongside strategic defence partners and Australian industry to build the sovereign capability the Australian Defence Force needs for guided weapons and explosive ordnance.
AMC will deploy Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA and SolidWorks applications across the full engineering life cycle of its GWEO-related programs, from defining and managing mission and system requirements through to systems-level design and validation, enabling greater rigour, consistency and traceability in the development of complex defence systems.

Integrated into AMC’s existing engineering environment, Dassault Systèmes’ applications enable end-to-end, model-based engineering across the full life cycle of defence programs while complementing existing systems.
Central to this deployment is a secure, on-premise digital engineering environment designed to meet stringent defence requirements. Dassault Systèmes will support the enablement of full data control, compliance and protection of sensitive programs while supporting the scalable, digitally integrated development of Australia’s domestic guided weapons capability.
