SIG Sauer announces new P385 pistol to drive new era of accuracy, performance

The P385 features the new SIG Recoil Dampening System, a low bore axis, and a precision-cut carbon steel barrel for extreme accuracy. As a result, muzzle rise is reduced by 20 percent or more, depending on the specific P385 model, according to the company. Along with its new FCU, the P385 includes a new SIG SAUER Trigger Block for a smooth, clean trigger press and pairs with the new MagStrap grip module for easy customization both in grip length and hand size.

The pistol is available in black and coyote brown, all models of the new striker-fired pistol are SIG-LOC optic-ready, feature fully ambidextrous controls, and have an optional manual thumb safety.

“The all-new SIG SAUER P385 was developed from the ground up,” said Eric McKenzie, Director of Commercial Product Management, SIG SAUER.

“We’re driven to innovate, and the P385 delivers a new era of performance, accuracy, and innovation with several new features.”

The company also announced a new XRAY5 1x24MM advanced red dot sight built on a solid-state architecture with a 225-dot rigid matrix with no moving parts to wear or drift and automatically responds to variable lighting conditions. Shooters can digitally zero in seconds with the XRAY5 mobile app, and the XRAY5 stores multiple profiles.

The Australian Defence Force currently uses SIG Sauer P320 sidearms, selected under LAND 159 and distributed by Melbourne defence company Aquaterro. The SIG P320 pistols were selected under LAND 159 Tranche 1 to replace Browning Hi-Power Mk III 9mm pistol in use with the ADF since the 1960s.
