With billions of dollars of investment from the federal government into the shipbuilding industry, Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price encouraged women to pursue the many leadership roles that are being created in the industry.

“The Morrison government is committed to growing female participation in naval shipbuilding,” Minister Price said.

“We are creating thousands of jobs through our naval shipbuilding program, providing a stable, flexible and rewarding career in the shipbuilding sector for decades to come.

“For women who are driven to make, to create, to learn, and to lead, the Naval Shipbuilding College can be where it all starts.”

The Naval Shipbuilding College has worked closely with companies to deliver a pathway for increasing women’s participation, education and leadership in the shipbuilding sector.

“These companies are trailblazers, inspiring the next generation of women to pursue a career in naval shipbuilding,” Minister Price said.
