As part of the contract, Ventia is scheduled to provide 24-hour operation and management for the facility. Operations are expected to include marketing, business development, asset management and facility management.

According to Derek Osborn, executive of defence and social infrastructure at Ventia Group, the company will help DevelopmentWA build a stronger future for the state.

“Ventia is pleased to be able to help generate local business and employment and deliver improved cost benefits through our network of suppliers and subcontractors,” Osborn said.

“Our contract team will be led by Warren Farrow, general manager, critical infrastructure, who has over 20 years’ experience within the Australian maritime infrastructure and strategic asset management space. He is supported by the wider Ventia business, bringing extensive connections within the defence, maritime and resource sectors.”

The company is currently one of the largest providers of defence services in Australia.

“We have a relentless pursuit to redefine service excellence and we bring a collaborative approach, efficiency through innovation and a value for money service that has been proven across our contracts within our social infrastructure business in Australia and New Zealand,” Osborn said.

“Ventia is looking forward to delivering best practice in operations and management through our systems, and by leveraging our in-house WA-based marine asset management capability.”
