James Bond-esque attack submarine unveiled by HighLand Systems

Move over James Bond and Batman, UAE’s HighLand Systems has unveiled their Kronos armoured submarine at NAVDEX 2023.

The futuristic hydrodynamic submersible is suitable for commercial rescue and combat operations with a seating capacity of 11.

The steel-hull, composite-covered submersible has a length of nine metres and height of two metres, and carrying capacity of up to 3,000 kilograms, folding wings for land transport, and room for up to six torpedoes.

It has a choice of hybrid, electric, and diesel engines which can achieve a max speed on water of 80 km/h, underwater of 50km/h, air supply for 36 hours, working depth of 100 metres, and max critical depth of 250 metres.

Personnel comforts include adaptive lighting, automated life support system, air conditioning system, and cameras to monitor the outside of the submarine.
