Syos has announced a new uncrewed underwater vehicle that is designed to engage in “high-priority” missions.

Syos’ new SU10 underwater uncrewed vehicle is expected to be deployed later this year with goals of strengthening multi-domain autonomous maritime operations.

Specifically designed for surveillance, subsea infrastructure protection and overall security, the SU10 will be used in countermeasure operations, inspection and search identification.

“The SU10 extends our portfolio undersea and strengthens Syos as a provider of affordable interoperable uncrewed capability across land, sea, air and now subsurface,” said Syos CEO and founder Sam Vye.

“The SU10 enables rapid, scalable operations across both defensive and offensive mission sets.

“When paired with uncrewed surface vessels and uncrewed aerial systems it becomes part of a persistent offshore node that can deploy, coordinate and adapt, while keeping people out of harm’s way.”

Operating to a depth of up to 500 metres with a 10-kilogram modular payload, the SU10 system can operate up to four hours on battery and features ultra-slim fibre-optic tethers.

It has the capability to be launched, operated and recovered from anywhere via satellite communications technology, and will see data being converted and relayed to remote operators live.

SU10 is operated through AAIMS, an “autonomous software stack” created by Syos. This open architecture stack allows for multiple systems to plan and operate at once, enabling effective mission operations.

“These are products that stand alone as class leaders or operate as part of a connected, multi-domain uncrewed system – delivering operational effect from air to seabed, through our Syos single autonomy stack, AAIMS,” Vye added.

“We’re a business focused on building multi-domain solutions – designing vehicles and autonomy together, moving at pace through spiral development, informed by real-world feedback, to deliver advanced capability faster and a significantly lower cost to capability ratio.

“That’s the Syos difference, advancing multi domain operational capability, delivering with speed to where it matters most.”
