The shipbuilding firm is set to upgrade its critical business systems in an effort to support its sustainment of the Navy’s Collins Class fleet.
ASC has launched a digital transformation program, aimed at supporting its digital shipyard transition in a bid to streamline processes, enhance integration between systems, and expand the use of real-time data to bolster decision-making across the business.
According to ASC, the program would strengthen its Enterprise Resource Planning system and introduce new technologies designed to enable its workforce to support the sovereign sustainment of the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarine fleet.
ASC CEO and managing director Stuart Whiley said the initiative would ensure ASC delivers cost-effective and timely services to the fleet.
“This project will keep ASC at the cutting-edge of submarine sustainment innovation. It will ensure we maintain an efficient, cost conscious culture as we continue to deliver world-class service and value for money to the Royal Australian Navy,” Whiley said.
“ASC is committed to the growth and development of its employees. The new systems will ensure they are skilled in the latest digital systems, streamline their work and provide greater job satisfaction.
“Our people will be better equipped to do their jobs by working with real-time data, integrative platforms and improved knowledge-sharing that will enable them to focus on the areas of their expertise.”
Whiley expects the program to create approximately 35 new jobs, based across South Australia and Western Australia.
The digital transformation project will be co-ordinated and delivered by professional services consultancy Deloitte.

Enterprise resource planning solutions provider IFS will also support the project.

Novacura and BluePrism are also expected to participate in the program.
