Airbus delivers final H145 SAR helicopter to German military

Airbus Helicopters delivered its final H145 search and rescue helicopter to the German military.

Airbus Helicopters delivered its final H145 search and rescue helicopter to the German military.

The final H145 has been delivered to the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support as part of an agreement between Airbus Helicopters and the Bundeswehr for the purchase of seven search and rescue aircraft.

CEO of Airbus Helicopters Germany, Wolfgang Schoder, welcomed the delivery.

"We are pleased that we have completed this order from start to finish on time and within budget and that the commissioning is proceeding according to plan," he said.

“The feedback we have received from our customers has been very positive. Because of their flexibility and very high availability, the helicopters of the H145 family have proven themselves in the Bundeswehr. We see considerably more possibilities for a wide range of tasks in all branches of the armed forces for the reliable model."

The helicopters are fitted with beacon detectors, first aid equipment, winches and precision cameras. The first six helicopters are currently stationed in Niederstetten and Nörvenich for search and rescue operations.
