The Commission has engaged Rohde & Schwarz for its nationwide spectrum monitoring network.
The Bulgarian Communications Regulations Commission has engaged Rohde & Schwarz to extend the country’s nationwide spectrum monitoring network.
The agreement is a follow-up contract for the company’s UMS300 compact monitoring and radiolocation capabilities, following recent network upgrades to the company’s latest ARGUS 6.1 spectrum monitoring software.
The Commission’s new systems, in concert with the company, are expected to require limited infrastructure and are designed for compliance with ITU recommendations.
According to the company, the Commission oversees Bulgaria’s communications network including monitoring the radio frequency spectrum to ensure that there is no interference to the country’s radiocommunications capabilities. The Commission selected the R&s UMS compact monitoring and radiolocation systems to support its task.
“This new order confirms the long-standing CRC technology partnership with Rohde & Schwarz and we are very proud to see continued customer trust in our solutions,” Anne Stephan, vice president critical infrastructure at Rohde & Schwarz, said.
“CRC is very serious about managing the radio frequency spectrum and preventing its misuse. Our solutions are operational, future-proven and critical regulatory tools for efficient planning and utilisation of the country’s frequency spectrum resources.”
Just last month, the company unveiled the new ADD557SR direction finding and monitoring antenna, with the new product able to operate across a wide range of frequencies and detect obscured emissions.
The new direction finding and monitoring system was designed to operate between 20 MHz and 6GHz across both vertical and horizontal polarisations, forming an “ideal” integration with the company’s DDF550 wideband direction finders and R&S DDF5GTS high-speed scanning direction finder.
Deployable across both stationary and mobile applications, the antenna can reportedly be used across the land, air and sea domains while identifying the direction of multiple sources on the same frequency, including concealed spot signals.
The radio equipment utilises the same encryption algorithms that are standardised across the NATO militaries and are specially designed for the maritime domain. A spokesperson from the company explained the transceiver’s interfaces enable external devices or external decryption devices to be integrated, while guarding the naval distress frequency.
