Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced his cabinet today, with a major shake-up of the Defence portfolio seeing new faces and an old face in key roles.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced his cabinet today, with a major shake-up of the Defence portfolio seeing new faces and an old face in key roles.

Christopher Pyne will now shift to the role of Minister for Defence, with former Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Steve Ciobo moving into the role of Minister for Defence Industry

Former Defence Minister, Senator Marise Payne has replaced Julie Bishop as Foreign Minister.

Darren Chester will remain the Minister for Veterans' Affairs and Defence Personnel, and Senator David Fawcett will become the new Assistant Minister for Defence.
